About Me
Our Story
I moved to the US in 2012 to pursue my Masters and fell in love with the country and what it had to offer – the freedom, the scenery and above all, the opportunities to succeed.
When I moved to the US, I always wanted to return to India. As I interacted with my peers, I realized that I was not alone. According to a survey, South Asians form the majority of people who have intentions of moving back to their home country. However, as we spent more time in the US, the decision did not seem that straightforward. When we announced the decision to move back to our families, we were met with shock, surprise and a hefty dose of scepticism which loosely translated to “Are you out of your mind?” We made the move anyway and if we were to decide again, we would absolutely do it.
We moved back to India in early 2021, bought a home in Mumbai and have no plans of going back to the US. This seemed like a good time to put out our thoughts, reasons behind making this move and our journey in the hope that some of these experiences might help others in the same situation. The move involves meticulous planning, getting your families on board and as with everything else in life, large leaps of faith that no amount of planning can prepare you for.
This is our attempt to share our learnings and experiences in the hope that we can make your lives easier and help you make what will likely be one of the most important decisions of your lives. Start by finding out whether you should make this decision or not.
